Overtone Ceiling Tile Sound Barriers have a high-density, acoustical fiberglass core, combined with a 1lb Mass Loaded Vinyl. STC Rating of 29 and Fire Rated (ASTM E-84 Class A). Installs by simply placing on top of existing ceiling tiles.

A grid ceiling can at times be the only option for new or retrofit construction. However the problem is, it does not create a very soundproof structure. By simply adding a Ceiling Tile Sound Barrier you can significantly improve the STC rating of your ceiling grid at a low cost without compromising the appearance of your ceiling.
The Ceiling Tile Sound Barrier is made of combined Fire Rated 1 LB Mass Loaded Vinyl, which acts as a sound barrier and 1” Fiberglass, which absorbs the sound. Sound waves originating from the source will be initially absorbed by the fiberglass and then blocked by the mass loaded vinyl.
Any reflected sound wave component will be further dissipated into the fiberglass absorber. The fiberglass also provides thermal and vibration insulation, resulting in a more insulated environment. The Ceiling Tile Sound Barrier is available in pre-cut sizes, see above, and are designed to fit directly above your existing ceiling tiles. No cutting or special equipment is necessary for installation. Simply place above your ceiling tiles and expect to see immediate results!
